The Ethiopian Airliner Was Put into Use for only 4 Months. It Was the Second 737max Passenger Plane

Source:Iris Liang Time:2019-3-11 9:09:31

On the morning of March 10, local time, a 157-person ET302 flight of Ethiopian Airlines crashed and all the crew were killed. According to the flight tracking website Flightradar24, the “vertical speed instability” of the Ethiopian Airlines passenger aircraft took off, which caused people to pay attention to the safety of the passenger aircraft system. It is reported that this is the second Boeing 737 MAX aircraft accident after the lion aviation. In this regard, SEKO Machinery is deeply sad. Every large equipment must undergo strict installation and commissioning before delivery, and safety must be strictly observed. Our high-speed precision industrial welded pipe production line has an electric shock protection mechanism. Once a person accidentally touches the power supply, the unit will immediately stop the line to protect personnel and equipment.

On March 10, according to foreign media reports, a passenger plane of Ethiopian Airlines crashed with 149 passengers and 8 crew members. The data map shows a Boeing 737-800 aircraft of Ethiopian Airlines docked at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in Ethiopia.

[Airline passenger plane accident has no life, there are Chinese citizens on board]

At 8:38 am local time on March 10, Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 took off from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. But six minutes later, the plane crashed near Bishoftu, 62 km southeast of Addis Ababa. The latest news shows that 149 passengers and 8 crew members on board have all been killed, and there are Chinese citizens on board.

In the morning, the Ethiopian Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the accident but did not disclose the casualties. Prime Minister Abi said on the social media "Twitter": "The deepest condolences to the family who lost their loved ones in the Boeing 737 crash case of Ethiopian Airlines."

The official website of Ethiopian Airlines said in a statement issued later that there were 149 passengers and eight crew members on the flight, and the company is still confirming passenger details. Ethiopian Airlines is setting up a passenger information center to provide relevant information to the family or friends of the passengers through the company's official website.

Currently, search and rescue operations are still in progress. The foreign media reported that all the crew members were killed. The CCTV reporter confirmed in front that there were Chinese citizens on the flight.

[Coincidence? Two major accidents have occurred on the same model]

According to a statement issued by the official website of Ethiopian Airlines, the ET302 is a 737 MAX 8 aircraft. At the same time, the wrecked aircraft was brand new and was delivered to Egypt Air in November 2018. The aircraft was only four months old, which caused people to speculate on the cause of the accident.

In fact, this is not the first major accident in this model. On October 29, 2018, an Indonesian Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX 8 passenger plane carrying 189 passengers and crew was lost after 13 minutes of take-off. It was subsequently confirmed to have crashed in the waters near West Java, and all the crew were killed.

After the crash, the US Federal Aviation Administration announced that it would re-examine Boeing’s previous safety analysis of the aircraft. Bloomberg also reported in the November 2018 report that the flight monitoring system is flawed. The official Indonesian preliminary investigation report also showed that there is a problem with the flight data sensor, which may feed back the wrong data, causing the captain to lose control of the aircraft.

In November 2018, Boeing issued a safety update to pilots driving the 737 MAX 8, warning that a sensor failure could cause a sharp drop in the aircraft.

Despite its flaws, the 737 MAX is still a popular choice for airlines. Elmar Giemulla, a German aviation and transportation law expert, said in November 2018 that there are about 200 Boeing aircraft currently facing the risk of a fatal failure and still being used as a passenger aircraft.
